As an explaination how it might have gotten in that “non detect mode” the only thing I can think of, cablle this is pure speculation, is that I might have had the phone connected to the USB port while the Laptop was doing a reboot.
In the boot sequence a USB device was recognized, and the PC tried to boot from it and this might be what screwed the phone up.
