I’m open to any ideas on how to make this work. I tried downgrading drivers – still nope. Message 2 of If I convert to Windows 8 would that solve this problem? According to the Lenovo site, driver is not available for fingerprint reader for Windows 8. I’m a dedicated thinkpad fingerpprint and this is not very motivating.
I thought I did finterprint previously, but this time it worked. I’m using a T thinkpad running Windows 7 64 bit.
By the way I found the ‘Lenovo Fingerprint Software’ here: I did the Lenovo bios update, so I’m guessing the external setting is the issue with a lot of us. The software seems to work but when I try to use it I get the message that it can not access the finger print reader.
Loaded BIOS defaults and saved. After I did that and rebooted again, I noticed two separate fingerprint enrollment windows; the newer one is the ‘ThinkVantage fingerprint software’ which seems to detect the sensor better.
