I tried flashing my bios, still no good However couldn’t get an audio driver. I have installed the driver succesfull, but the system always boots up in safe mode. I found that the downloadable drivers do not match the drivers I received on my original installation disk; however, they did more closely reflect the names of the drivers found on Vista installation.
Haven’t tried re-booting yet but the Vista Beta driver installed fine running bit Vista. I downloaded the driver installation information from that I received from Gateway available to download on its website.

Vista installs fine, and I’ve been able to use it now for a day, but I still have no audio. I had success on the upgrade path from XP. Check out Gateway pc Support for there Laptop driver downloads. All of a sudden I have video again.
